They don't know how we worry

Since Leo has gone to his new home and gotten past the settling in period, I’ve had very little contact from his new family. Which normally wouldn’t really worry me all that much (while families that keep in touch are WONDERFUL, I don’t expect that most pet families will send updates very frequently). But in this case, I had emailed several times, and Penni had called and emailed a couple of times as well. Just wanted to see how he was doing, whether there were any problems, etc. With no response, you start to worry. What if something happened to him and they just don’t want to tell me? I’d never forgive myself.

Thankfully, Penni’s involvement with the reading program means that once the school year and program started up again, she could find Leo’s family and inquire about his welfare in person. And I’m thrilled to say that he is doing GREAT, they adore him and in fact, after dogsitting him for a week, his brother went out and bought a corgi. A tailless one! As she said…“They wanted a Leo. They didn’t understand that there is only one.”

I can’t tell you how much better I will sleep tonite. And hopefully, now that they know how it can make us worry, they’ll at least let me know that he’s ok when I ask. :o )

I am so glad to hear that Leo is doing Ok. And, yes, there will only and ever be ONE Leo. :o )

There’s such a sick feeling in the pit of your stomach when an “important” dog seems to have vanished. I was almost as relieved as Jeri is when I spoke with Julie (Leo’s new mom). She said, “if something was wrong, I’d let Jeri know.” I explained that we all like to know when something is right as well. I’m hopeful that I’ll see more of Leo’s little boy this year so I can keep up on Leo’s adventures.

I suggested that Leo and his brother Kip meet somewhere to have a major frap.
