I will never make up my mind

I keep going round and round about the naming theme for the litter.  My newest idea is to take the word “Charm” from Lizzie’s registered name (Ch Snowrose Poetic Charm) and have each registered name contain that word.  Also seems appropriate since with a free whelp, 9 healthy puppies, and seemingly a few show prospects to pick from, this litter does indeed seem a bit charmed.  :P   I was thinking along the lines of:

Allegro Charm Offensive
Allegro Semi-Charmed Life
Allegro Charmed I’m Sure
Allegro Charm School
Allegro Southern Charm
Allegro Good Luck Charm  “Clover”
Allegro Three Times the Charm  “Tripp”
Allegro Love Charm
Allegro Bewitching Charm   “Sam”

But I wonder if this is too “been there done that”?  Internet searches tell me that Good Luck Charm and Third Time’s the Charm are popular show dog choices.  I’m sure you can all help me come up with more good names in this vein, no?  Opinions are welcomed.

You’re killing me by switching away from Schoolhouse Rock, but (sigh) it’s a good theme. I would not do Charm Offensive or Semi-Charmed Life; they’re a little too likely to be prophetic. How about Charm City?

I stayed awake to catch the daily cute — hmmm — no photo? How about naming them after poets. You could narrow it to poets who dwelled on particular topics. Might want to skip Longfellow . . . Allegro’s Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Robert Frost, etc.

I love…love…love the charm idea. Unfortunately those of us without kids soooo don’t get Schoolhouse rock.

I love the Charm theme…how about Charmed by…blank…you could really come up with a lot, Charmed by Light, Charmed by Beauty, Charmed by Jewels, Charmed by Dreams, Charmed by Magic, Charmed by Song, etc. A thought at least…

Love the Charmed theme. And I second Emily’s idea. Very cute and catchy. And the lack of pics are our fault. We took up a good bit of Jeri’s time yesterday drooling over the pups.

Ch Allegro Don’t Squeeze the Charmin.

How about Allegro Fairy (Sorceress Druid, Gwiddon. Magician) Charm Gwiddon is welsh for sorceress
    Allegro’s Prince Charming
    Allegro’s Charmer
Allegro Charm Quark (Ok that came from my son, but he thought it was cool)
Naming puppies is part of the fun. I like the Charmed by idea as well. Have fun.

Hmmm, seems to me they should all be named after reptiles, you know, the Lizzard litter!! ;-)

    Allegro’s Tyrannosaurus Rex
Allegro’s Velociraptor (uh oh, that one could be dangerous)
    Allegro’s Jurassic somethingorother . . .

Ok, maybe Allegro’s Iguana would be rather unattractive but it was fun while it lasted.

    Kymoto Dragom is cool

  10. #10 by Janet on July 31, 2009 - 11:49 pm

    Charm Bracelet
Italian Charm (this should be a show dog name – there will be a banner at lots of shows with his/her name)
    Charm Offensive

How about Allegro Charmed my Socks Off?
    Allegro Charmed by Majick?
    Allegro Living a Charmed Life
    Allegro Charmed I’m Sure
    Allegro Prince Charming

Lizzie’s litter was the “poetic” litter. ;)

I’m trying to figure out what would be prophetic about Charm Offensive…? As far as I knew it was just a political term used when someone is trying to get people to like them. LOL

Hello, Schoolhouse Rock is from the 70’s. Like, when YOU were a kid. ;)

I wish schoolhouse rock was still on. I keep saying I need to order the DVDs!

Well now I had to look it up. :) 37 episodes created between 1973 and 1980, and four created as the “Computer Rock” segment between 1983 and 1984. And then they made a few more in the 90’s.

Maybe I’d have to hear them? Or maybe I had parents who didn’t have us watching/hearing it?

Mandy: you watched public television (Sesame Street, Mr Rogers) while I remember Schoolhouse Rock as being on during Saturday morning cartoons on the networks. I remember them well, but it seems like I may have been a late teenager, which would have put them in the late 60’s.

I can remember some other cartoons you watched: specifically the Smurfs. Maybe it was a different network?

It’s so long ago I can’t remember! (Happy almost birthday.)

I watched them in the early-mid seventies. Couldn’t tell you how Canada’s constitution starts, but I can get 95% of the Eed Plebnista right. (Star Trek reference.)

I liked the Schoolhouse Rock theme. Am glad I wasn’t the first to post the Don’t Squeeze the Charmin suggestion.

You are officially not allowed to help name puppies. :D

    Cute idea! Thank you.

I love the Charm idea and even more so the Charmed by and the one who comes here could be Allegro Charmed by Snowrose.

  23. #23 by penni on July 31, 2009 - 3:30 pm

In the same vein “Charmeleon”? Please don’t throw me off the naming panel.

  24. #24 by Emily~ DreamEyce on July 31, 2009 - 5:04 pm

Iguana could have the call name ‘Juan’!

There’s lots of cool lizard names, I mean, how about Allegro’s Mali Uromastyx??? ;)
